Show & Tell at the MTFCA Museum
Richmond Indiana.
A few words from Jay G. Klehfoth
The Show and Tell event just concluded a few hours ago. It was a HUGE success. Given that it was the first time, I really didn’t know what to expect. It exceeded all of my hopes. Carl Rismiller and Brent and Nancy Mize did an outstanding job in organizing the event and Rick Lindner was also involved and gave an outstanding presentation on the “lesser known” side of Henry Ford. We had some outstanding displays of accessories, memorabilia, literature, and parts—many, many things I have never seen before. Russ Potter brought a huge collection of Model T carburetors, many of which I have only seen in pictures and some I had never seen. Jack Daron brought a collection of tools…also many I hadn’t seen. Brent and Nancy Mize had a myriad of unusual items.
An 86 year-old gentleman from Harrison, Ohio took two 3 month long trips around the country in 1948 and 1949 and he had a great collection of newspaper clippings, log book and other items from his trips in a 1922 touring. We had the car and he came and spoke about some of his adventures. After he returned, he has restored the car to show quality and it was on exhibit.
I know that we had ~135 people who registered with Nancy Mize, but not everyone signed in. I would guess we had at least 300 people attend. We had the best sales day ever in our gift shop since we moved to the new location; with over $1,300 dollars in sales. We also had a 50-50 raffle that netted the museum about $60, plus other monies. Also, our donation box was much fuller than when we started.
The regional Model A club came with many A’s and the Noken T’s (Northern Kentucky chapter) made a tour to the museum and we had numerous Model Ts from around the area show up.

Carl, Brent and Nancy, Rick and Benny were absolutely awesome in making this all come together. I can only hope that we can make this an annual event – if not more often. Everyone had a good time and I know that there were things related to this hobby that I had never seen before. What a great event.
